Vanessa Takes A Drink - Hipster

"Pretty good right?" Mike yelled over the party noise.  "I never heard of it til tonight, but I like it!" 

Vanessa sighed heavily.  "Endicott Brewery's so mainstream now, it's awful," she replied.  "They sold out when they started shipping nationwide."  She took another swig.  'Even meatheads like Mike are drinking it now.  Ugh.' 

"Ah I dunno, I think it's tasty!" Mike said, a bit thrown off, but trying to recover. 

Vanessa rolled her eyes.  "You say that because you didn't drink it when it was ACTUALLY good," she retorted.  "Their production line's shot to shit now.  This is an IP-fuckin'-A and I can barely taste the hops.  When you try to please the masses, your product gets watered down.  It happens to every good brewery eventually." 

"Oh," Mike said, blinking.  "Uh well...Hey your shirt's cool!  Is that a band?" 

Vanessa smirked.  "Oh you've never heard of them?" she asked haughtily.  Mike shook his head in response.  "They're pretty underground.  Sort of a Dark Folk Synth-Baroque fusion." 

"Oh uh wow!" Mike said, feigning understanding.  "Think I could get the mp3's from you?  I'd like to check it out." 

Vanessa looked at him like he was a drooling moron.  "Why would you even WANT mp3s?  The compression on the sound is atrocious, first of all.  At least get on FLAC level, Mike.  And secondly, I have the album on vinyl, where you can actually HEAR the different aural layers."  She sighed again and took another drink. 

Vanessa wondered why she'd come to this party.  The drink selection was all brand name garbage, most of the people were a bunch of bland sheep, and the music was Top 40 in the worst way.  Melanie was pretty cool, even if she was mostly uninformed on ACTUAL cool trends, but she couldn't say the same for anyone else here.  She would just be glad to graduate and finally get away from the conformity the seemed to pervade her whole town.  She was going to backpack through Europe over the summer and then move straight to NYC for college.  Vanessa was so ready for her life to finally begin.

He purchased the Craft Beer option, which turned Vanessa in a bit (a lot) of a hipster, quite displeased with the environment and her life, but ready to move on to more chic climes.
